Dona McAninch, 80, of Sewickley, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012. A spectacular mother and loving grandmother, Dona was born Aug. 17, 1932, in Apollo. She was the daughter of the late Mary (Daugherty) and Lindsey Clever. Dona was a graduate of Ford City High School and Allegheny Valley School of Nursing. She was employed at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights for 30 years. Dona enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by five children; three sons, Bill (Sally) McAninch, of Freeport, Gary (Debra) McAninch, of Salem, Ore., and Michael (Lisa) McAninch, of New Kensington; two daughters, Mary (Tim) Mohney, of Cranberry Township, and Susan (Jim) DeFazio, of Richmond, Va.; brother, Jake (Valjean), of Perkasie; and two beloved sisters, Joyce Richey, of Apollo, and Sally (Jim) Wall, of Kingswood, Texas. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. At the family's request there will be no visitation. A private burial service was held in Freeport Cemetery in Freeport.
