Jean M. Starkey
CONCORDIA - Jean M. Starkey, 73, Concordia, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. Mrs. Starkey was born Jean M. Beauregard on Aug. 1, 1924, at Concordia. She was a nurse's aide for several years at St. Mary's Convent and a bookkeeper for Clark Plumbing from 1974 until retiring in 1990. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, both of Concordia.
Survivors include her husband, Walter E. of Concordia; two sons, Steve LeDuc and Larry LeDuc, both of Concordia; two daughters, Anita Ouellete of Clay Center and Diana McCartney of Concordia; two stepsons, Alvie Starkey of Harrod, S.D., and Sam Starkey of San Diego; three stepdaughters, Margaret Graham of Geneva, Neb., Mary Snavely and Pam Fox, both of Concordia; two sisters, Maxine Turner of San Diego and Ethel Pierce of Concordia; a half-sister, Bea Hebert of Concordia; 24 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, the Rev. Steven Heina officiating. Burial will be in St. Concordia Cemetery. An Altar Society rosary will be at 5 p.m. and a vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 325 W. Sixth St., Concordia 66901.
