Born in Columbus County, NC she was the daughter of late Flora Ophelia Noble & George Oliver Hardie Sr. She was the widow of William Paul Stephens Sr.
She is survived by four sons, William P. "Bill" Stephens Jr. of Evans, Ga., Richard E. "Gene" Stephens and wife Janie of Johnson City, TN, George A. "Andy" Stephens of Raleigh, NC., Timothy W. "Tim" Stephens and wife Brenda of Granbury, TX. One sister Marcella Thompson of St. Augustine, FL. Five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter in law Jane Stephens four brothers, six sisters. She was a lifelong member of Clarendon Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to NC National Kidney Foundation at 4819 Park Rd Suite C. Charlotte, NC 28209-3842
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the Inman Funeral Home in Tabor City. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00pm in the Clarendon Baptist Church by Dr. David Coleman with burial to follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tabor City.
