Springer- David Benjamin "Ben," SR., 72 of 2407 Kirby Ave., died Monday in a local hospital. Born in Graysville, Ga., he was the son of the late George W. and Martha Boggs Springer. He was retired from Mississippi Valley Structural Steel as a master mechanic. He was a member of the Ridgedale Baptist Church, the Shrine, Alhambra Temple, a member of the Ridgedale Masonic Lodge No. 660 and wa a York Rite Mason. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eula Spivey Springer; two daughters, Mrs. George H. (Carolyn) Harding, Lebanonn, Tenn., and Mrs. Doyle (Pat) McDaniel, Chattanooga; one son, David B. Springer Jr., Chattanooga; two sisters, Mrs. Johnnie S. Carey, Mrs. Della S. Thompson, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; two grandchildren, Tommy McDaniel and Andy McDaniel, both of Chattanooga. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10"30 in the chapel of the Turner Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Hubbard officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tommy McDaniel, George H. Harding, James Doyle McDaniel, J. R. Denham, T. A. Erwin III, G. Henry Harding and Jimmy Denham. Arrangements by the Turner Funeral Home.
