Death came to Albert Slob, 77 at his home here this week Wednesday morning following an 18 year period of invalidism.

Funeral services will be held at the home Monday, Oct. 9, at 1:00 p. m- and at Central Ref. church of which he was a member, at 1:30 p. m.

Albert Slob was born Nov. 24, 1872 at Usquert Groningen, Netherlands. He came to America at the age of 21 and worked on a farm for a number of years, later clerking in a hardware store. He operated an Implement Store for a time and later on opened an insurance and real estate agency in Sioux Center.

About 18 years ago he was forced to close his insurance agency due to poor health and he was more or less confined to his wheel chair from that time until the last five years of his life. He was totally blind and bedridden during those last years.

He married Annie Cleveringa on Tanuary 12, 1899 and to t his union 7 children were bom, all of whom including his widow survive: William and Wilhelmina (Mrs. Wallace Young) both of San Diego, Calif., Fred of Sioux Falls, Arthur of San Diego, Elmer of Augusta, Ga . James of Algona and Angeline, (Mrs. Leonard Visser) of Sioux Center. 13 grandchildren also survive.

3 brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Before he became ill, Mr. Slob took an active part in civic affairs, serving on the city council for two terms. Mr. and Mrs. Slob observed their 50th wedding anniversary last Jan. 12, 1950.
