Mary Sims Bray was born in Griffin, Ga., May 16, 1923 to Roscoe Redding Sims and Queen Ann Lester Sims.
She moved to Florence, S.C. at 4 years of age.
She graduated from Florence High School where she was a cheerleader and active in the Drama Club, thereafter she attended the University of South Carolina for one year.
She married Thomas Marshall Bray of Rockingham on March 29, 1942.
Marshall was serving in the Army Air Corps in World War II. Mary loved gardening and all kinds of sewing.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rockingham, the Queen of Spades Garden Club, the Rockingham Garden Club, the Richmond Historical Society and two book clubs.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her beloved husband, Marshall.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Rockingham. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery.
