Isaac was accused of killing Lewis Pickett in 1871 FAG#16476879, however, a jury could not agree to a guilty verdict and Isaac was freed from custody.

The people of Argyle and vicinity were greatly shocked last Friday morning to learn that Isaac Miller had been found dead in his bed, for it was generally believed that he was enjoying the best of health. It seems that on the day before he had not been feeling well and had called in a doctor who thought there was nothing serious the matter, and Mr. Miller himself expected to be out the next day. At ten o'clock he was sleeping soundly, and when his daughter called him early in the morning she found him dead.
Mrs. Miller had been away on a visit for several weeks, but was expected home Friday evening and her daughter was to have gone to Janesville to meet her. She missed her train in Janesville and did not arrive home until Saturday, when, instead of a happy greeting she came to a house of mourning.
The deceased was born in Clinton County, Ohio, Feb. 17, 1833, and at the time of his death his age was 71 years, 9 months and 15 days. At an early age he left Ohio and came to Wisconsin, and from here went to California. At the outbreak of the Indian war in 1854 he enlisted, and at its close in 1856, was married to Cyrena Knudson of Jackson county, Oregon, residing there 12 years and then returning to Wisconsin made his home on a farm near Woodford until about two years ago when he moved his family to Argyle.
He is survived by a wife and two children, Mrs. Loyd Scott, of Marshfield, and Miss Mae Miller, of this place, while six children had gone before.
Rev. L.F. Rayfield conducted the funeral services at the M.E. church Monday and the remains were buried in the Wiota cemetery.
