This infant was born alive during an abortion perpetrated by Amante Rongetti, who ordered that the baby be allowed to die and then thrown into the furnace. The baby's mother died of complications, and Rongetti was sentenced to die in the electric chair. He got his death sentence thrown out on appeal, and eventually served a term for manslaughter. The baby's father, William Cozzi, was a dental student who arranged the abortion.
