D.L. Geren age 86 a lifelong resident of Bradley County passed away Saturday in a Chattanooga hospital. Mr. Geren was a retired Bradley County School bus contractor working for over 30 years and was a lifelong member of the Cleveland Masonic Lodge #134. He attended Clingan Ridge Baptist Church. D.L. was the son of the late Leonard and Sally Geren and was also preceded in death by his wife Juanita Geren. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Gene and Dean Geren a sister Neva June Geren and a sister in law Betty Geren.
He is survived by his daughters Jo Newberry and her husband Alan of Sarosota FL., Wanda Jean Lewis and her husband Don E. of Cleveland his son Dale Geren and his wife Sherry of Cleveland, 9 grandchildren 11 great grandchildren a sister Julia Ann Collins and her husband Joe of Cleveland, brothers Luther Geren and Tressley Geren and his wife Wenonah of Chattanooga. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held 11am Wednesday at the North Ocoee Street of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Rev. Terry Geren officiating. Interment will follow in the Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
