Black of San Antonio, TX; one brother, Marion Loren Black, New Martinsville, WV and 2 grandsons and one granddaughter--Democrat Messenger, October 11, 1948
He was one of eight brothers, all born in Clarion County, PA, George M; John Henry; Samuel Porter; David Harrison; Franklin Lemuel; Marion Loren; and William Albert. The brothers worked in the oil and gas fields in PA, WV, and TX.

Deceased are sons Malichia, Ralph E. , and John William Black. Malichai and Ralph E. are buried in St. Ann Cemetery, Waynesburg, PA. John Willam Black is buried in Texas. A daughter, Josephine M. Davidson is also deceased and is buried in Texas.
