MOS:
Joseph was born in New Orleans to Lawrence N Adams and Calleaner M Maiden.
Prior to his military service, Joseph graduated from the Mount Zion Lutheran School.
Joseph had been in the Army for about 27 years. He served in Germany during WWII, the Korean War and Vietnam. He began his Vietnam tour on March 13, 1968 and was attached to the 25th Infantry Division, 125th Signal Battalion, Provisional Company.
Even though the base was occupied by over 140 Americans, a total of 24 people, including Joseph Adams, lost their lives on that night when their communications camp located at the "Black Virgin Mountain" came under attack by the Vietcong. One soldier was captured and held as a prisoner of war. He was possibly later released.
AWARDS: Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medal
Joseph was survived by 2 brothers, 4 sisters and step father.
