Mrs. Emma O. Jones Is Laid To Rest Monday
Final rites for Mrs. Emma Jones, of LaFayette, were conducted at 2:30 Monday afternoon at the LaFayette M.E. church by Rev. C.S. McClure. A large attendance was present at the services, the Woman's Home Missionary Society, of which the deceased was a member, attending in body.

The song service was in charge of Mrs. Delia Wade and Mrs. Vivienne Reed with Mary Elizabeth McClure at the piano. The selections were "In the Garden" and "Face to Face."

Body-bearers were Clarence Brown, Frank Lauber, Rex Bliss, Will Wilkins, Harold Craig and Fred Snyder.
Interment was in the family lot in LaFayette cemetery.

Among those from out-of-town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Urban Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Carlson, all of Galva; Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Stevens, of Galesburg; Mr. and Mrs. John Peterson, of Galesburg; Don Manley, of Galva; Mr. and Mrs. James Ingels, of Peoria; Mrs. Roy States and daughter Leta, of Saxon; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Webster, Clyde Cromien, Mrs. Tom Connelly, John Cromien and daughter Eleanor and Milford Aten, all of West Jersey.

Emma Olivia, daughter of Oliver and Elizabeth Manley, was born at Galva, August 13, 1861, and passed away at her home in LaFayette, May 27, 1932, aged 71 years, 9 months and 14 days. She grew to womanhood in Galva, where she attended the public schools and the M.E. Sunday school. In 1880 she united with the M.E. church in Galva, later transferring her membership to the LaFayette church, after she married and came here to live.

August 19, 1886, she was united in marriage to Frank S. Jones. Seven children were born to this union, six of whom are living. On daughter, Lillie, died several years ago. Those who survive the mother are Mrs. Mertys Smith, Mrs. Grace Carlson, of Galva; Mrs. Delia Peterson, of Galesburg; Samuel and Lowell, of LaFayette; and Fred, of Los Angeles. Eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren are left, with a number of other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her loss.

Mr. and Mrs. Jones lived on a farm south of town for a number of years. Eight years ago they purchased a home here and moved to LaFayette to rest and enjoy the quiet life of the village. Mr. Jones passed away a little over two years ago and since that time Mrs. Jones and her son Sam have lived together in the home.
