Howard Jones, 48, of Sikes Township Passes Away

Funeral services will be held at 10am in Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church for Howard B. Jones, 48, Sikes township farmer who passed away Sunday in the community hospital after a brief illness.

The Rev. Clarence Gavett will officiate at the last rites and burial is to be in Fairview Cemetery here. Rosary was recited Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 8pm in the Springan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers named are Oddie Tiisto, Francis Wilke, Ed Hill, Fed and Carl Arndt and Walter Henning.

Mr. Jones was born Nov 30, 1908 in Sikes township. In addition to farming he was engaged in real estate business in Phoenix, Ariz. during the winter months for the past five years.

He married Theresa Schieffer at Stanley on May 31, 1951. She survives, as do a daughter, Susan, 5, and a son, Virgil, 2. Another son died in infancy. Additional survivors are three brothers, Marvin and Purl, both of Blaisdell; Lloyd of Palermo; and a sister, Edna of Malta Mont.
