  Mrs. Jessie Thomas, 93, of 312 Hillsboro Ave., died this morning at 6 o'clock at St. Joseph's Hospital in Alton.
  A lifelong Edwardsville resident, she was born April 14, 1870, a daughter of Charles and Frances Marshall Schwarz. The Schwarz' were a well known musical family in this area.
  Survivors include a son, Bennett Thomas of Houston, Tex.; and four sisters, Mrs. J.F. (Edith) Kershner of Alton, Mrs. J.C. (Estelle) Whiteside of Edwardsville, Mrs. W.C. (Ruth) Rogers and Mrs. E.L. (Catherine) Sumner, both of Society Hills, S.C.
  She was preceded in death by her husband, W.B. Thomas; four sisters and a brother.
  Funeral Mass will be Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's church in Alton. Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Edwardsville.
  The body will lie in state at the Gent funeral home, 2409 State St., Alton, after 2 p.m. Sunday. The rosary will be recited there in the evening at 8 o'clock.
