At her home in Coleta occurred the death of Mrs. Paul [Elizabeth Bock] Ackerman. Although she had not been very well for some time, she drove out to attend to the management of her house and last Sunday forenoon was spent reading her Bible. She got dinner at two o'clock for her son Charles, ate quite heartily and felt even better than usual; shortly after she was taken with pain in the stomach. Dr. Fraser was called and relived the pain, when she complained of hard breathing. Everything was done to relieve her, but in a few minutes she lay back in her chair an was dead, having been sick less than an hour. Dr. McBride was also called and pronounced the cause of death uremic poison [kidney failure], he having previously treated her for dropsy. Mrs. Ackerman was a good neighbor, kind friend and loving mother, and will be sadly missed by all. The funeral will take place Wednesday at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran church two miles west of Coleta. She will be buried in the yard adjoining the church by the side of her husband. She was seventy-two years old.[Geneese Grove Central Cemetery]
