Mr. Paul Ackerman, of whose illness we wrote last week, died Friday evening at about 8 o'clock p.m. of pneumonia. He was seventy-four years old at the time of his death, and was an early settler of this country, having accumulated a snug fortune by hard work and industrious habits. He will be deeply mourned by his aged wife, who with him has resided in Coleta some five years, having moved from their farm four miles west of here at that time. He leaves three sons and three daughters to mourn his loss. They have our heartfelt sympathy in their sad bereavement. He was buried in the Lutheran burying ground one-half mile west of town Sunday, where a large concourse of neighbors and friends met to pay their last tribute to the deceased. Words of comfort were spoken by Elders Grimm and Garwick.
