Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 11am at the Sunnyside Church in Canton, GA with the Rev. Phillip Ford, Rev. Paul Hodge, Rev. Dr. Hugo Hammond, Rev. Jacqui Smith, and Rev. Jeff Hammond officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Lawn Memorial Park in Roswell, GA, at 3pm.
Pallbearers include, Wade Hammond, Dr. Jerome Hammond, Keith Smith, Rev. Paul Hodge, Edward Pearson, Pastor Kris Williams, Rev. Bill Turner, Charlie Gilliard, Bobby Pharr, and Nolen Ford.
Reverend Hammond was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Rev. P.H. Hammond and the late Willie Bell Ford Hammond.
He attended Lee University where he met his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Walker Hammond. Reverend Hammond pastored from 1971 until his retirement in 2009. He established and built churches in the United States, Russia and India. He held healing crusades, supported missionaries, funded orphanages and mentored ministers all over the world. He leaves a legacy of prayer and faith. His life motto was "All you need is faith in God."
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn W. Hammond, Canton, GA; daughters, Nichole Hammond Turner (Tony), Canton, GA, Sheridan Hammond Ford, Seattle, WA, Regina Hammond Stockton (Patrick), Guyton, GA; grandchildren, Noelle Pearson, Christian Pearson, Alexis Ford, Natalie Pearson, Bailey Stockton, Nolen Ford, Noah Turner, and Jake Stockton, siblings, Clarence Hammond. Columbia, SC, Ruth Turner, Rev. Dr. Hugo Hammond (Letha), Joyce Ward, Savannah, Kenneth Hammond (JoAnn) Statesboro, GA, C. R.
