Mildred was educated in Virginia as were her siblings. She attended the Moldavia School and the Albemarle Female Institute in Charlottesville. She made the "Grand Tour of Europe" with her sister, Stella, in the spring & summer of 1891 and spent a number of succeeding years in Richmond before her first marriage. She was married first to Mr. Eduard Mugge, Jr of Cuero, TX on 4/6/1896 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C. & with whom she had a daughter, Pauline. His death in early 1900 from consumption put Mildred into a deep depression. She eventually married secondly Mr. Paul Kendall Clymer in 1905 by whom she had a daughter, Elizabeth (Libby). They were divorced in 1930. Mildred was described by her family as a warm, friendly person with a great sense of fun & humor.
