Shirley was an angel from the start. Shirley graduated from Granite High School; she married Robert 'Bob' Cowley in Salt Lake City, Utah. Shirley was a dedicated homemaker, and wonderful mother. Shirley enjoyed everyone she came in contact with, Shirley was a very giving person, and taught all of those she knew unconditional love. Shirley worked at the Salt Lake County Water District, she made friends with everyone, even those just coming in to pay their bill. Shirley loved to dress up and go out-if there was a party, you could always count on Shirley to be there. Shirley loved to dance; one of her favorite places to dance was the Murray Arts Center. That is where Shirley met many good friends, and one very dear friend, Larry Mallet. Shirley was our angel here on earth and she was taken from us too soon. Shirley was needed to care for all the precious children called to heaven way too soon.
Shirley is survived by her son, Bob (Barbara) Cowley, Arizona; grandchildren, Chuck (Laura) Cowley, Arizona, Lauren Cowley, Arizona; two great grandchildren, Jack Cowley, Ashley Cowley, Arizona; sisters, Carolyn Devenish, Salt Lake City, Marilyn Morgan, Sandy; and eleven nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by husband, Robert Cowley, sister, Beverly Esmeyer; and brother, Charles Leggett.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Shirley by making a donation in her name to: Care Source Hospice, 1624 East 4500 South, Salt Lake City Utah 84117
