Gene Mayfield Ray, 84, of Madison passed away Saturday.
Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her daughter, Tanya Ray.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Sherman Ray; sons, Cass Ray of Buffalo, N.Y., and Kevin Ray of Madison; daughter, Katrina Bristol and husband David of Madison; grandchildren, Colden Ray, Hannah Bristol, Cody Bristol and C.J. Ray; and sisters, Marcia Duggan and Maurine Rhoton.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church with visitation 30 minutes prior to the service. Laughlin Service Funeral Home is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, Gene requested a prayer of thanks and doing an act of kindness.
