Green-Wood Cemetery
Section 53, Lots 5954-5957, conjoined.
These 4 lots divide an oval burial mound, on which stand the 12 monuments nearest to the camera in the photo. Lots 5954 and 5955 make up the left and right front of the photo, respectively. Lots 5957 and 5956 make up the rear left and right of the photo, respectively (the lots are numbered counterclockwise from left front to left rear). In general, the CORBETT family occupies the left and right front of the mound (small dark stones and the 4 shite stones at extreme left). The STARR family occupies the right rear of the mound, but no stones stand there. The GALE family occupies the left rear of the mound. A modest white obelisk stands there, but is so eroded that no discernible text survives.
