Born August 29, 1927, at Downers Grove, Illinois, a daughter of Ray and Genevie Belle (Hollis) Hayes.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her father on February 12, 1957; her mother on February 5, 1976; four brothers, Walter Eugene Hayes at the of age four and one-half years on July 30, 1929, Donald Hayes (Dorothy's twin brother) on October 7, 1927, Charles "Ted" Hayes on December 17, 1996, and Kenneth L. Hayes on April 28, 2001.
She was a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church. During her working life, she was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, Columbia, for twenty-five years retiring in 1989. She enjoyed painting, collecting cook books and teddy bears, traveling, and loved animals.
Those left to mourn the passing of Dorothy include: cousins; and other relatives and friends.
