Folk Figure. It is said he was the essence of freedom. He wandered around the rural highways of America at a goat's pace, unfettered to schedules, clocks or calendars. Surviving by selling scrap metal he would find on the road, postcards of himself and the goats, and of course, free goat milk. Claimed he had visited and preached in every state except Hawaii. He lived in and traveled for 45 years around the United States on his goat powered wagon with iron wheels. Like a traveling circus with his cavalcade of goats, clamoring down the road, the sight of which turned heads and cause traffic jams everywhere he went. People would wait anxiously for days on his goatly entourage to arrive, preparing to take pictures of him and his goats and get to talk with him. A song, book and hundreds of newspaper articles were written about his travels. He was a simple man, leaving behind only his wagon, a wooden bench, a chair, his mattress and his beloved goats.
