ABSHEAR, Nina L 80, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 31, 2012 at Clark Memorial Home. She was born on August 26, 1932, in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, the daughter of the late George C and Thelma (Tobias) Levingston. Nina is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, James B and Karen Abshear, Jeffrey K Abshear and Mark A Abshear; grandchildren, Paysha (Ben) Marshall, Justin Abshear, Heather Collins, Rob Collins, Jacob Abshear, Hannah Abshear and Colton Abshear; great-granddaughter, Hadley Ragan Marshall; brother, Paul Levingston; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Rick Teets; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Vern Gregg, Paul G and Lucille Abshear, Richard N and Dorothy Abshear, Kathy Palmero and Dan Pencil; and numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Abshear in September 2011; brother, George Levingston; sister, Nancy Gregg; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Keith Abshear and Karen Pencil. Nina was a member of the graduating class at Mechanicsburg High School in 1950. She retired from Robertson Incorporated in 1996. Nina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always had a special interest in her sons and grandchildren's school activities and their participation in sports activities. Nina raised her children with a loving heart and a strong mind. She was the type of woman who told her children what they needed to hear instead of what they wanted to hear which molded them into the fathers they are today. She was a proud mother and grandmother and will be missed by the many lives she touched. The family would like to give a special thanks to Donna McAdams and the entire staff at Clark Memorial Home and also to her many newfound friends she made there. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 4-7 pm at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME-Springfield, where a celebration of Nina's life will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10am with Craig Grammer officiating. Entombment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
