Mrs. Gladys Johnson, 90, of Albany, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, December 31, 2012.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM, Friday, January 4, 2013 at the chapel of Sherwood Baptist Church. Bro. Ross Powell and Rev. David Smith will officiate with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Born September 25, 1922 in Moultrie, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late William E. Asbell and the late Lillie Mae Crosby Asbell. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and caring for others. She was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church, The Vota Vita Sunday School Class and The Gideon Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Johnson who passed away on November 20, 1997.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anita Johnson-Calhoun and her husband, James of Albany; brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Virginia Asbell of Colquitt County; sister, Jeannette Crawford of Colquitt County; grandchildren, Rex Poole, Joycelyn Bearce, Andy Bearce; great-grandchildren, Robert Hurt, Cole Hurt, Naomi Poole and Aultman Hurt; step great-grandchildren, Alan Gehri, Erik Schultz and Amanda Stephenson; 3 step great-great grandchildren, Paul, Kyle and Carlos.
