THE STANFORD INTERIOR JOURNAL, STANFORD, LINCOLN COUNTY, KENTUCKY
FRIDAY, MAY 29, 1914
Page 1
Roy Stewart shot Anderson Carr, Jr., to death in Macksville about half past four o'clock Thursday afternoon, which came as the climax to trouble which the two negroes had had the previous night and that day. Carr was a nephew of Stewart, and they lived together, in a new house recently built by former Postmaster J. C. Florence, back of Denham's coal yard.
Anderson Carr, Jr. was a powerfully built man, of about the same size as Stewart. He was a nephew and namesake of the late Anderson Carr, who committed suicide in the presence of officers over a year ago, after having been arrested for the murder of his wife.
