Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Helena (Tracz) Cox of McKee; by a son, Elmer Cox II and by 2 daugthers, Shirley Cox Reece of Heidelberg and Alice Frances Click of Waco and by a sister, Mae Welch and her husband Edsel of McKee. He was blessed with 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Elmer was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Cox; by a sister, Bonnie Whitaker and by 3 brothers, Charlie, John & Lester Cox.
Elmer was a veteran of the United States Army, was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Ford Motor Co.
Funeral service was held 11:00 AM Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Bernard Thomas officiating. Burial followed in the Pilgram's Rest Cemetery. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
