Nadine was the daughter of Emory and Cora (Bodine) Wilson. She married Pendleton Byron Brooks on December 23, 1934 and he preceded her in death on March 3, 1988. Her family moved from Hillsboro to Austin in 1965. She was a member of the Central Christian Church of Hillsboro and previously a member of the Central Christian Church of Austin. Survivors include two daughters, Melinda Massey of Brownwood and Penny Bynum of Austin; three sisters, LaVona Fanning of Forestburg, Jimmie Schmoldt of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Pattie Matthews of Fort Worth; five grandchildren, Sarah McNeese of San Antonio, Rachel Massey of Austin, Bert Massey of Austin, Brooke McKinney of Amarillo and Susan Lewallen of Lubbock; and six great-grandchildren
