DALEVILLE--Effie Grove, 86, a former Daleville resident, died Saturday in Woodland Nursing Home, Muncie, after a long illness.
Mrs. Grove was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Anderson, Daleville Eastern Star, and Mount Pleasant Cemetery Ladies Aid, and she was a charter member of Community Club of Daleville. She was the widow of William W. Walker and Garfield Grove.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Etta Sutton, Yorktown; a son, William A. Walker, Daleville; a stepdaughter, Enid Bronnenberg, Daleville; a sister, Mae (Newberry) Kirkland, Alexandria; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Ballard & Shirey Funeral Home, Daleville Chapel, with Rev. David Ray officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery, Muncie. Calling hours at the funeral home are 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and before services Tuesday.
