SOPHIA HALVERSON
Mrs. Sophia Halverson, 75, a native of Manitowoc county, died Saturday morning at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, where she had been a patient since April 2.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Gjerpen Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gjerpen. The Rev. A.B. Holland will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Halverson, nee Hanson, was born in the Town Of Cato, March 12, 1881, daughter of the late Ole and Caroline Findahl Hanson. She was married to Monroe Halverson, June 25, 1908 and the couple farmed on Rt. 4, Manitowoc. He died in 1949.
Mrs. Halverson, active in the Ladies Aid Society of the church, recently had been residing with a daughter, Mrs. Ebbe Berg, at Menasha.
Mrs. Halverson is survived by two sons, Chester of Neenah and Gordon of Grinnell, Ia., four daughters, Mrs. Berg of Menasha, Mrs. Allen White of Pullman, Wash., Mrs. Clair Hagadorn of Battle Creek, Mich., and Mrs. Lyle D. Gorder of Manitowoc; three brothers, Valdemeir Hanson of Washington (illegible) Hanson of Rt. 4, Manitowoc; and four sisters, Mrs. Oscar Larson of Manitowoc and Mrs. Albert Hanson, Mrs. Peter Mason and Mrs. Albert Larson of Rt. 4, Manitowoc.
The casekt will be moved from the Valley Funeral home, Appleton, Tuesday morning to the church where the body will lie in state from 10:30 o'clock until the hour of service.
