His wife's name may have been Susanna Dawson or Palfrey. William's exact burial location is unknown. It is possible he is buried in an unmarked grave at historic Tucker Cemetery family graveyard in Amherst County adjacent to the old Tucker Homeplace, as there are several Tucker, Lee, and Penn ancestors affiliated with this clan who may rest in now unmarked graves in that old cemetery on private property, or nearby, on what was the Tucker lands.

The following info is provided by Find A Grave contributor "Rachel", regarding her research on this line as follows:

"Greetings,"

"I am a direct line descendant of William (Sr.)and Rachel Lea.
William Lea (Sr.) (xref F.A.G. #103407591), father of Ambrose (and William Lee Jr.), left a will in Amelia County, Virginia (1770; page 328). In it he names "Rachel my dearly beloved wife"... and children ... "to wit Elizabeth Clarke, Mary Walden, Ann Bennet, William Lea, Sarah Penn, Joseph Lea, Andrew Lea, Milly Dudley, Lucy Lea and John Lea and my son Ambrose Lea's (dec'd) children being seven in number. Just a few years prior to his father's death in 1764, the deceased son, Ambrose Lea (xref F.A.G. #103340960), had left his will in Amherst County, VA (Will Book 1, pages 44 thru 47). He named "my Loving Wife" and children "Son Frank", "Son George", "Son Richard" and "Daughters Elizabeth, Jeane, Suckey, and Nancy" - seven in number. It is the same number given in grandfather William Lea's record. Executors of Ambrose's will were: "My beloved Wife, George Penn, William Lee, and Gabl Penn".

"When Frances Penn Lee Tucker died she too left a will - written in 1808 and recorded in 1812 in Patrick County, Virginia (Will Book 1, page 110). She states in her will ...'first my desire and wish is that all my estate and the money in hand, as well as that which may be due me...to be equally divided between my first six children namely George Lee, Richard Lee, Elizabeth Crutcher, Susannah Harrison, Jane Tinsley and Nancy Tucker'. She goes on to provide for 'my son Robert Tucker'. Francis Lee (Frank) was likely deceased as of her death date. (I have a date of 1791 for that event; however, I do not have documentation for it.) Her executors were given as 'my nephew, Georg Penn and my son in law Richard Harrison'. It was witnessed by Brett Stovall, Thos. Penn, and Hamman Critry (or possibly Critz)."

"It is my belief that William Lea (Lee)of this memorial page (*brother of Ambrose Lee)should be connected to parents: William Lea Sr. (F.A.G. #103407591) and Elizabeth Rachel Ambrose Lee (F.A.G. #103407944)."

"Sincerely,
Rachel"
