Phebe's parentage is unknown at this time. It seems that the Hendricks name is Dutch, and our family lore says we had Dutch ancestry. Phebe is one of two candidates for this heritage [along with our ancestor Betsey (Hall) Collins]. It appears that she came from New Fairfield CT, where she married Joseph Eastman on 12 Oct 1802, as "Phebe Henrise."

Their marriage is in the records of New Fairfield Congregational Church. The marriage was performed by Ephraim Hubbell, Justice of the Peace, from North Society of New Fairfield. North Society is now Sherman CT.

Phebe was originally buried on the family farm in Marshall NY, but was later removed to Waterville Cemetery at the direction of her GG grandson, George Eastman, founder of Eastman Kodak Company.

Wife of Joseph Eastman. All sons accompanied parents to Marshall, NY and, except Peter, they settled on Paris Hill road, within 2 miles of each other.
Nathaniel and John then left Marshall.
