Juanita Bryant Carroll was born December 25, 1932 to the late Rollis and Lency Bryant in Slocomb, AL. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined Countyline Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her death. She was married to the late Buddy Carroll and is the mother of six children. Juanita received her education and worked in the Slocomb/ Dothan area her entire life. She was a member of Celestial Type Order of Eastern Star Chapter #76 and the NAACP. Juanita's grandfather was the Rev. Henry Bryant who was the second pastor of Countyline Missionary Baptist Church in the late 1880's and 1890's and is credited with building the second church building on the present site of today's Countyline. Her maternal great-grandparents, Shade and Adline Adams, gave the land for Countyline Church and Cemetery; also other family members were founding members of the church. Her friends called her "Miss Neet" and her family lovingly called her "Granny". She was an avid sports fan and she enjoyed sewing and cooking. 'Miss Neet' was always ready for a spirited game of cards, she always had a recipe somewhere and could tell you how to or make for you most items of clothing. Although Juanita never received formal training to achieve her skills, she always encouraged her children to get an education. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Walter, Gladis and Robert. Juanita leaves to cherish her memory: six children- Linda (Jerome) Pace, Do-than, Margaret Carroll, Slocomb, Grady Carroll, Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Virginia (Frank) Barnes, Slocomb, Mary Frances (Abraham) Curry, Detroit, Michigan and Milton Carroll, Montgomery, AL; two devoted sisters, Rollice Lee, Dothan, AL and Agnes Jones, Panama City, FL; five grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and her special friend, Buddy Faison.
