Dorrie is my grandma, she passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep. Dorrie was survived by her daughter June, son in-law Harry son Pat daughter in-law Shirley Halpin Grandchildren, Harry Alan, Lee, Julie, Jodie, Judy Alan, John (Hopper), Jill & Betty. Dorrie was a strong woman both mentally and physically who managed to run her late husbands Alan Stirling business of supplying fuel when he passed. My mum said she could lift a 44 gallon drum no problem. Dorrie later married Arthur "Sonny" Loftus who became my step-pop and the only grandfather I had known. Dorrie called a spade a spade and wasn't backward in coming forward with the way she looked at life. I remember the time when she thought she would drown ol' goosey gander because he was getting very old. Half way through the deed she had a change of heart and couldn't go through with it. She immediately pulled goosey from the water and gave him mouth to mouth to bring him back. Goosey went on to survive a few more good years. Grandma could bake and my favourite were her chocolate chip cookies. They were so popular that when she had to leave the house to do some shopping or something like that, she would hide the choc chip cookies because if she didn't they would all be gone. She is very sadly missed by her daughter and grand children. I hope her and Jill are together, Jill had always felt guilty that she didn't stay the night with Grandma as was planned. Grandma slipped away peacefully in her sleep that night, there would have been nothing Jill could have done.

I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name, all I have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is my keepsake with which I'll never part, God has you in his Keeping, I have you in my heart.
