Benjamin Osborn was the son of Charles and Hannah (Swain) Osborn. He was born the 21st of 11 mo 1825 and died, unmarried, the 15th of 9th mo 1849. Although he was born in Indiana, his family lived for a while within the bounds of Miami and Springfield Friends Meetings in Warren County, Ohio, when he was a young child, returning to Wayne County by 1840. During the 1840s the family relocated to Porter County.
