Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2000, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Bruce McKenney and Rev. Robert Kujawski. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Brillion, Wis.
She was born September 29, 1900, in the town of Liberty, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Ernst and Christine Carsten Wehausen. She received her education at Liberty School in the town of Liberty in Manitowoc County and in Brillion, Wis. On September 14, 1921, Ida married Elmer Schwanke, in Brillion, Wis. He preceded her in death August 20, 1957.
After her marriage, she along with her late husband, Elmer farmed in the Potter area for many years. Ida was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church and the Manitowoc Senior Center.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Karen Schwanke, Appleton; one grandson, David Schwanke, Forest Junction, Wis.; one granddaughter, Linda Gridley, Boise, Idaho; two great grandchildren, Alyissa and James Gridley; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 1957, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. . Memorials would be appreciated to Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
