Leroy Barrera, age 71 died Friday afternoon, January 18, 2013 in his home in Milam, Texas.

He was born in Helotes, Texas to Ernest and Sally Menchaca Barrera.

Leroy worked as yard superintendent for Baker Marine, living in Vidor before moving to Milam twenty-six years ago.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna Lee Smith Barrera of Milam, his sons, David Barrera and his wife Judy of Adams, Tennessee, James Barrera and his wife Barb of Sacramento, California, Michael Barrera and his wife Jennifer of Port Neches, Texas and John Barrera and his wife Shawna of Fort Worth, Texas, his daughter Leighann Barrera of Fort Worth, fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Ernest Barrera, Robert Barrera and his wife Ginny, Wesley Barrera and his wife Anita, Gilbert Barrera and his wife Cindy, VJ Barrera and his wife Joanne, Roland Barrera and Herbie Barrera and his wife Ramona and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leroy was preceded in death by his mother and father Ernest and Sally Barrera, his sister Ophelia Amaro (FAG mem 17994964) and his sister-in-law Hope Barrera.

Funeral services will be at 2pm, Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial following in the New Hope Cemetery near Milam, Texas.
