Accident Kills David Estrada

David Estrada, 23, was killed in an accident last Friday morning on the Tehachapi-Willow Springs Rd. when his car apparently went out of control and was struck broadside by a pickup truck.
The California Highway Patrol reported that Estrada was southbound 1. 7 miles north of Oak Creek Rd., and was com ing out of a moderate left hand curve. The 1964 Plymouth evidently started to drift to the right side of the roadway and Estrada overcorrected to the left.
He crossed the center double yellow line into the northbound lanes and went into a broadside skid. He was struck by the
pickup which was driven by Reuben J. Schwab of Littlerock. Estrada's vehicle was sheered off behind the center door post, and the wreckage strewn over a wide area from the force of the impact. .
Schwab told investigating officers that he saw the vehicle ~go out of control and applied his brakes in an effort to avoid the collision. He was taken to A. V Hospital for treatment of injuries. His pickup also rolled and landed on its top on the side of an embankment.
Schwab was on his way to work in Tehachapi at the time of the accident. Estrada had been discharged on Feb. 26 after serving two years in the U. S. Army.
