Mrs. Mala Albright, 94, a resident of Fayetteville and a former Serbin Fashions employee, died Tuesday (October 23, 2001) at Lincoln Skill Care Center.

A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Downing Higgins. Mrs. Albright was a member of the Harmony Hill Church of God. Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Oliver of Tullahoma; five half-brothers, George, Bobby, Hugh, Owen, and Bendel Higgins, all of Georgia; two half-sisters, Jean Reeves and Monteen McMinn, goth of Georgia; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Albright was preceded in death by a son, Billy Joe "Blue Bird" Albright, and one daughter, Martha Ann Gosnell.

Funeral services were held Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home with Mr. Wildon Neely and Rev. Jim Cuckler officiating. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside her husband, Clayton Albright, who died in 1978. Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
