HAROLD H. McLEOD, 90, resident of Brockton
BROCKTON - Harold H. McLeod, 90, a retired building contractor, died Monday at West Acres Nursing Home after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Grace E. (Seaman) McLeod.
Born in Brockton, son of the late Herbert T. and Ida Jean (Brehaut) McLeod, he was a 1916 graduate of Brockton High School and a 1918 graduate of Wentworth Institute. He served in the U.S. Army in France during World War I.
Mr. McLeod was a self-employed building contractor for more than 50 years and a member of the Carpenter's Union Local 624. He attended the Porter Christ Congregational Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Marjorie E. McLeod and Doris Bl McLeod, both of Brockton; a son, Richard H. "Dick" McLeod of Brockton; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Lewis (Ruth) Shave of East Falmouth and Mrs. Fred (Helen) Packard of Brockton. He was also brother of the late Marion Mecarta.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Sampson Funeral Home, 309 Main Street, Brockton. The Rev. William R. McCoy of Christ Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery.
