Born on January 25, 1845, in Toronto, Canada, to Anthony and Margaret Colosky. A few years after his birth, in 1852, His parents, four brothers and six sisters moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. By 1873, he was in Pembina, North Dakota with his new wife Katherine. Three children followed -- Jennie, born Nov 2, 1874, Charles born March 28, 1877, and Lewis born in 1880.
He won the State Representative seat in both 1891 and 1895.
After his first wife Katherine died in 1898, he was briefly married to Mrs. Abbie Clark. That marriage took place in 1898 and was annulled about a year later.
