James Galvan

James Galvan, 46, passed away at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA on March 9, 1999. He was born on June 9, 1953 in Mojave, Ca and was a life-long resident.
James survived two tours in Vietnam while in the US Navy from 1972 to 1976. He was awarded the National Defense Medal. He also successfully battled raising his three sons as a single parent.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Smith in 1996 and father, Joseph Galvan in 1992. He is survived by his sons, James Paul, Erick James and David Joseph; sister Pamela Galvan of Mojave, CA; and brothers, Eric Nelson of California City and Corky Galvan of Las Vegas, NV. He attended religious services at Saint Mary's of the Desert. Viewing was held on March 15, 1999 at Stickel Memorial Chapel with graveside services conducted by Pastor Grant Frye on March 16 at East Kern Cemetery, Mojave, CA.
We the family of James Galvan want you to know Jim as we do. He was a thoughtful son, a loving father, a forgiving brother, the best uncle and a loyal friend to many, including Bill W. Jim passed away clean and sober. We will all miss him. You are welcome to join us in saying good-bye. Arrangements by Stickel Mortuary
