Boot was the sweetest and best dog a family could ask for. No one knows what breed she was it really didn't matter. She was part of the family, she was always watching out for us kids letting Mom know when something was wrong. She even once chased off a dog that was going to attack us and chased the dog all the way back to his house. When she got older she even tried to go after two dogs much larger and younger then she was. She took her job as the protector of us kids seriously even when she was too old to do the job. She loved to eat bologna strings and pickles. She made it through several moves including a major one from Iowa to Colorado. She was so gentle that a small child once tried to pick out her eyes, she simply sat there and allowed her to continue never once getting mad about it. She is buried in the backyard in a sunny spot on a hill so she could always sunbath. She is still missed after all these years.
