Virginia Beach-Oleta M. Pitcher, 92, went to be with the Lord June 10, 2002.
She was born in Ronceverte, W.Va., to the late John L. Arritt and Nita Greene Arritt and was also predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years, Grant L. Pitcher. She was a member of London Bridge Baptist Church where she sang with the Echos. She was also secretary at Indian River Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.
She is survived by two daughters, Hilda V. Triplett and husband, Bob of Virginia Beach and Lousie M. Perkins and husband, David, of Florid a; five grandchildfren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and other loving relatives.
A funeral will be held at 11 am. Friday at the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home and Crematory by the Rev. Ronald W. Lee with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

A native of Ronceverte, WV, she was born October 18, 1909, daughter of the late John Lewis and Neta Green Arritt. She worked at the Rayon Plant in Covington for several years before moving to Newport News during the war to work for the Virginian Railroad.
After leaving there, she worked as a secretary for the Indian River Baptist Church and was also a Sunday School teacher there. Later, she became a secretary at the Kempsville Baptist Church and at the time of her death was a member of the London Bridge Baptist Church of Virginia Beach and had been a member of their Echos singing group. Along with her mother and her sister, Elva Luchard, she was a charter member of the ARP Church in Covington.
Mrs. Pitcher was previously married to Clyde Collins who died July 14, 1988. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Hilda) Triplett of Virginia Beach and Mrs. David (Louise) Perkins of Sebring, FL, 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 14, at 11 a.m. at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Chapel and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery beside her husband, mother and sister.
