Katie Bell King Jackson, 102, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, in Lubbock. Katie Bell was born Aug. 6, 1910, in Waco, Texas, to Butler and Mary King. She married the love of her life, Ren Jack Columbus Jackson, on Oct. 8, 1928, in Waco, Texas. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 1990. Katie and her family moved to Seagraves in 1940 and later moved to Lubbock in 1972. Katie will be remembered by her family for her love of sewing, quilting, canning and gardening. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and playing dominoes. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Those left to cherish her memories are one son, Kenneth Augustus Jackson of Lubbock, and one daughter, Dorothy Virginia Singleton of Las Cruces, N.M. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; two sons, Eddie Jack Jackson in 2012 and Jackie Columbus Jackson in 1945; one grandson, Cody Jack Jackson in 1990; one daughter-in-law, Fern Jackson in 1991; and one son-in-law, Jim Singleton in 2006.
