Clara M. Bull Stierley, 83 of 720 Spring, Alton, died at 12:10p.m. Tuesday at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born in Grafton, a daughter of the late William and Patricia (this is an error-should be Georgia Lucinda) (Simpson) Spry. She married Asher Bull who died in 1968. She later married Don Stierley, and he died in 1978. Surviving are a son, Edward Bull of Godfrey; three daughters, Mary A. Orban of Brighton and Clara E. Bauser and Norma Gill, both of Alton; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-frandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 9p.m. today at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. At 9a.m. Thursday she will be moved to the Gospel Assembly Church in Jerseyville, where services will be held at 11a.m. with the Revs. Louis Kappler, Clyde Shaw and Anthony Maggos officiating. Burial will be in Upper Alton Cemetery, and the church has been named as a memorial.
