JERSEYVILLE - Asher A. Bull, 85, of 607 Stryker Ave., Jerseyville, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday following an illness of sometime.
He was born in Gilead, Ill., July 26, 1883, a son of the late George W. and Mary Bull.
His marriage to the former Clara M. Spry who survives took place June 30, 1912.
Beside his widow, he also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Gus Orban of Brighton, Mrs. Ralph Bauser and Mrs. Juitte Gill, both of Alton, two sons, Floyd of Jerseyville and Edward of Bowling Green, Ky.; 18 grandchildren. Five children also preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home, Jerseyville, from 4 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Saturday, when the body will be taken to the Gospel Assembly Church for services at 1:30p.m. The Rev. Harry Frazer and Louis Keppler will preside.
The body will be taken to Upper Alton Cemetery, for burial

Asher A Bull, 85 yrs-2mo-28 days, died at a physicians office where he had been moved by ambulance. The Jerseyville resident was a son of the late George W & Mary (Carrico) Bull. He was born in Gilead. He is survived by his wife, Clara M. Bull; 3 daughters, Mrs. Gus (Mary) Orban of Brighton, Mrs. Ralph (Elizabeth) Bauser and Mrs. Juitte (Norma) Gill of Alton; 2 sons, Floyd Harold Bull of Jerseyville, and Edward N Bull of Bowling Green KY; 18 grandchildren; and 17g-grandchildren, 5 children, Leslie and Rosalie, and 3 infants preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at Gospel Assembly Church. Rev Harry Frazer and Rev. Louis Kappler officiated and burial was in Oak Wood Cemetery (Upper Alton). Visitation was at Jacoby Brothers funeral home in Jerseyville.
