One of 4 children born to Charles Kitt and Ann McDonald(McDonnell) of Goulbourn Township, Carelton County, Ontario. Grandson of Charles Kitt and Elizabeth Breason of Ireland (then Carelton, Co, Ontario). Married to Amelia. Father of 11 children only 2 of which were living in 1904. William was an engineer by trade. The death record states the cause of death was as follows "paralysis following stroke of apoplexy" He was buried on February the 13th, 1904.

One daughter is listed on the 1880 Census.

The stone says 1864- 1904, but the 1860 Census for Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan lists him as 14 years old at that time.
