When he filed his WWI draft registration card in Jun 1917, he was single, living on Van Buren Street and was a mill operator for the Whittenton Manufacturing Company. At that time he was described as being slender, with gray eyes and black hair.

Funeral from the Sowiecki Funeral Home Monday Jul 19 at 8 a.m. Solemn high mass of requiem in the Immaculate Conception Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends invited to attend. John T. Goodwin, 73, of 142 Van Buren Street, and son of the late John T. and Annie (Rafter) Goodwin died this morning at Morton Hospital following a short illness. Born in Taunton, he had made his residence in this city all his life and was educated in the Taunton schools. Mr. Goodwin was formerly employed by the Whittenton Manufacturing Company until his retirement 10 years ago. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. He leaves four sisters, Ellen T., Mary A. and Catherine P. Goodwin and Mrs. John (Alice R.) Kerrigan of this city and several nephews and nieces.
