Gerald Schroeder, Foley, died Thursday, November 22, 2012, at DVA Medical Center in St. Cloud.

Memorial Services were held Saturday, December 1, at Henry's Catering and Banquet Center, in Foley, with the Rev. Tim Wittwer officiating. Military honors were provided by the Foley American Legion and the Gilman VFW.

Gerald Schroeder was born March 24, 1928, in Morrison County to Henry and Marie (Lachinski) Schroeder. Gerald attended agriculture school and hobby-farmed near Oak Park for many years. He also worked for Dr. Town in Foley and drove truck for Hard Drives for over 35 years, retiring in 1990.

He had 22 happy years with his wife, Theresa. The couple enjoyed fishing and hunting, snowmobiling, dancing and horse races, polka fests, church bazaars, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Gerald was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a Life Member of the Foley American Legion and the Gilman VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Myron (KIA), Delmar and daughter Sherry Zebarth.

Arrangements were by the Foley Funeral home.
